Wells Fargo donates foreclosed property to RTMD to benefit homeowners in need
A new way Rebuilding Together Metro Denver supports homeowners in need through the generosity of Wells Fargo
It was a very special holiday for one Aurora family who moved into their first home in December. Laura, Sergio and their two children are thrilled to be the new owners of a home donated to RTMD by Wells Fargo. Proceeds from the sale went to RTMD.
The home was part of a Wells Fargo program donating up to $1.2 million of real estate owned (REO) properties across the country to Rebuilding Together in an effort to help revitalize neighborhoods. These efforts create affordable and sustainable housing for low-to-moderate income families.
RTMD accepted the home and then, with their partners including HomeSphere, Champion Windows, Cherry Creek Properties, Wells Fargo team members, led by Principal Business Relationship Manager Cody Gertz, and many other generous companies, helped refurbish the home for the new homeowners. Work included installing new windows, making deck repairs, and replacing the garage door along with several other repairs.
“The work of Rebuilding Together truly creates a web of goodness. The donation of this home by Wells Fargo changes not only the life of Laura and her family, but of countless more homeowners who will be helped in 2012 with the proceeds from this sale,” said Kathryn Arbour, CEO of Rebuilding Together Metro Denver.
